Wintering Well

I’m tapping into the goodness of this season, the call to rest amongst the training schedules, teaching classes and fitting in time to just be. I know that my energy dips during winter, that it takes that little bit more motivation to be everywhere, doing all the things. I know that I’m a morning-or-never kind of runner, so later daylight has impacted how many times I get out the door, instead I’ve honed in on strength training before the sun wakes up, using the morning movement window in a different way to keep me feeling strong.

Teaching has kept me so inspired to create, evolve my own practice and forever be a student of this ancient wisdom.

Studying Ayurveda has impacted the way I consume nutritionally and the world around me, making mindful choices that are small but have a mighty impact.

Planning using The Productivity Method has been the daily dopamine boost I’ve needed, it’s helped me manage my time, projects and to-dos so effectively. But I’m also scheduling down time which helps me to feel like I’m not on a self-improvement hamster wheel.

Winter teaches that rest is not only needed but is vital. Without it, we don’t reap the opportunity to take stock, set intentions for the seasons ahead whilst squeezing the goodness out of the season we’re in.
