The Fitness January

September is here, and with it’s back-to-it motivation, it feels like another beginning, a fresh wave of energy and focus. The heady heights of summer, travel, reduced schedules and OOO were thoroughly enjoyed, but it’s truly good to be back to routine with a refresh of my goals.

Entering the final weeks of my training for Windsor Half Marathon, I have to be honest that I haven’t ticked off as many long runs as I planned, lesson learned: training for a big race over the summer months has had its challenges. From dodging the heatwaves, rain storms (Great British Summertime) and plenty of plans to curtail the running ones, it hasn’t been the smoothest training block. Throw a house move in the mix and it’s been slipping down the priorities far too often, which I acknowledge, and know that I’ll get to the start line perhaps not at my fastest, but full of excitement for this challenge all the same.

Approaching Autumn and the start of my FULL marathon training cycle, I’m looking forward to turning my focus to being the strongest runner I can be, not just clocking up the miles but also the strength work and recovery yoga that will keep me doing what I love.

It’s the final few months of the year to reach the goals I set using The Productivity Method, and it’s also the time that I look ahead to the next year to align the end of this year with the start of the next. My back-to-school season is exactly that, as I start a course on Ayurveda this month to deepen my understanding of this ancient wisdom. I’ll be sharing how I get on, and will be completing these studies in my early morning magic hours.

September brings a fresh wave of energy, study, challenge and renewed focus for the rest of 2025, follow along over on insta @swimrunyogagirl
