Open and Free
Being open to opportunity, rest, inspiration and collaboration = freedom of thought, comparison and the inner critic.
Confidence by Roxie Nafousi came at just the right time. I’ve long-loved her Manifest books and regularly revisit the pages for a top up of encouragement and inspiration. My self-confidence has historically been an issue that’s tripped me up, got in the way of growth and left me feeling low at times. Seeing others seemingly smash it while you’re figuring things out is tough, and I’m by no means ‘there’, but allowing myself moments of celebration for the wins, big and small every day in my professional and personal life has been a game changer. I’ll be recommending this book to my clients, loved ones and colleagues.
Moving from rigidity to curiosity, berating to compassion, these truly are shifts that all the while, have slowly allowed me to shed the layers of doubt. The anxiety comes still, but it doesn’t hang around as long. The worry creeps in, but I’ve got tools and motivation to problem solve. The overwhelm can feel heavy, but I’ve got so much more intutitive with what it is I need, and how each decision gets me closer to that.
Self-confidence is so intrinsically linked to selfcare for me, and starting from a place of self-love before self-improvement was the perspective shift I needed. And something new to add to my selfcare menu? Holistic Facials with Helen Ray. Simply wow. Nourishing, deeply soothing and a glow I’m now determined to let seep into the rest of my wellbeing, I can’t recommend Helen’s magic enough. Find her at Venwood in Richmond 1 Sunday each month, and at My Skin in Teddington 1 Saturday each month. Your skin and your soul will thank you!
